A POINT OF DIVERGENCE

OBJECTIVES OF THE DAY

> To conduct a test to check the ability of students to attempt question from comprehension.

> To give the students maximum exposure on comprehension type of questions.

> To introduce a new chapter "THE MERCHANT OF VENICE"  and the author William Shakespeare.

> To conduct a diagnostic test based on the difficult areas in achievement test paper.

> To attend parents teacher meeting organized in the school.

> To present a new poem "SOLITUDE" by ELLA WILCOX.

ANALYSIS OF THE WEEK

It was the last week schedule in T K D M Govt High School because we headed in our last phase of teaching practice. So in this week i had many objectives to fulfill because i need to complete two chapters as well as i need to conduct two test papers. My first aim was to conduct a test on reading comprehension as a part of my project work in the last semester. My project was based on to check the ability of students analyzing the questions and answer from a comprehension part. On the second day third hour we had observation on yoga class by Biju Sir. We aligned the students and made them to form lines then the students was divided into two groups. For the first half we took yoga class. I took chair pose by specifying both the benefits and methods to perform the yoga. Then during the 5th hour i introduced the chapter "The Merchant of Venice" by focusing the tradition and history behind the drama. I presented the main theme and characters like Antonio, Basanio, Portia and Shylock. The very next day i completed the chapter by elaborating the story line, moral value and by making the students to do the activity session. After the class I conducted a short diagnostic test focusing on the comprehension part, conversation and appreciation of the poem. Students could attempt the questions a much better than the previous test paper because i gave them proper instruction regarding the pattern of questions. During the afternoon section we had parents meeting and it was really good to meet the parents of my students and spend some time with them. On friday i handed a new poem "Solitude" by Ella Wilcox. I tried to present the main aspect of the poem by providing many instances and situations. Then we had some winding up section a short meeting with teachers and wherein each one of us shared our vows and experience on our teaching sections. We also arranged some sweets for the students and in return they gave us alot of memories to be kept in my deep heart.

STAGE SETTING (26/11- 2/12)

  "THRILLING EXPERIENCE"   OBJECTIVES OF THE WEEK To do necessary arrangement for school kolosavam programme. To act and chart out duties for kalosavam. To introduce a new poem to the students " SONG OF A FLOWER". To make the pupil understand more about seasons. To participate in school excursion as a teacher representative. ANALYSIS OF THE WEEK I n this week we had a lot of programmes associated with jilla school kalosavam as well as to coordinate school excursion. The main highlight was our drama "KARIVEPPILA" which was enacted in koyikkal school and won 4th place with B grade. On the second day of kalosavam i had duty in our school to check the classroom that was alloted to different school students who came to take part in competitions like vanchipattu and nadanpattu.
